Why can't BBC News 24 use the world headlines bed anyway, it would sound much better then the current one, and of course improve consistancy between the two channels.
Also are BBC News 24 planning a Sport Today style programme for their viewers or are we stuck with Sportsday?

I dont understand why Sky dumped Sportsline. Not everyone has Sky Sports News (previously Sky Sports.com TV). Infact Sky Sports News only broadcasts on Sky Digital. Seems to me that Sky News is 'dumping' viewers without Sky Digital.

Yeah, but it would good to have a different view of the sports news. I'm not saying sportsday should go but it doesn't hurt to have two programmes. Especially now Sky doesn't have a dedicated sports programme.

As I've mentioned before - the main reason that News 24 doesn't have the 'thunderclaps' like either BBC World or National News is because there is no time to practise the headlines. News 24 doesn't have continuity so does everything - playing the promos, doing the weather etc. Nothing looks and sounds worse than missing the thunderclaps. Both World and Nationals can rehe**** to see if things fit. Hence why the News 24 headline bed doesn't have them.
