Headline Bed used during News 24 coverage of BBC B

I've wondered this since the bomb happened, but why did the BBC decide to use the BBC World News Headline Bed on News 24 instead of the BBC News 24 Overnight one. They used the overnight BBC News ident, so why not the bed? Also, I would have thought it would be easier, seen as they have easy access to it for every night?

Anyone shed any light on this?

That's probably down to the fact that the bulletins came from the BBC World studio and the overnight bed probably wasn't on the mini-disc and they couldn't get the correct one from News 24 as a bomb had gone off! The ident is played off a digital server so would be available all the time.

So which out of the BBC World and BBC News 24 Overnight Beds do you prefer?

I prefer the N24 Overnight one. I like the big thunderclap at the start of it!

none of the BBC headline beds nowadays are particularly stunning - the only ones i do like are:

World Business Report
Newyddion
and one of the obscure News 24 ones (cant remember its name)

I like also the Newyddion headline bed, and the Wales Today headline bed.

What do you mean by 'obscure'? Do you mean a programme on N24?

I also like Breakfasts and Business Today - thats funky. The Newsline is the best regional one IMHO!

Is there any possible way we can open a new forum thread for asking if anyone can make the these headline beds.

I would think the BBC couldnt give a damn what headline vamp was played in a situation like that.

lol!! Yes I suppose so, mind you they wouldn't want to have the News 24 bed and the world opening titles! That wouldn't sound right!
