I remember in about 1993 - 1994 on Look East or whateva it was called at the time, there was a story about a woman who had been mown down next to the motorway Junction of the M1 in Luton. Cant remember much about it other than Kim Riley from Look East doing a Live interview.

I forgot one.

An entire street burnt down in Chester, I think it was around 1997.

Lots of cameras.

All rebuilt now, though, and looking much better than it did before.

As for the idea mentioned on about page 4, that I should go on a debate programme, I'd more than glady take part if I were to be invited. But that won't happen.

My town (Stockport) featured on North West Tonight & Granada Reports alot during the last month due to the cafe that permitted drug taking on the premesis (drugs of the illegal variety), the NWT crew were filming inside the cafe when the police came in to arrest the owner, the police asked the BBC to stop filming but because they were on private property with the owner's consent they could keep filming all the action, only when the owner had been taken away did they stop filming inside, they then finished the report outside the cafe with the sounds of the police kicking down an internal door!!

My old school (Offerton High School) was on NWT the other day on a VT of stockport scenes that was about 50 years old; the school was new and called Offerton Secondary Modern for Girls (Offerton Girls)

Actually, if you watch a couple of old Boston United reports on Look North, I have actually been on camera on one of them, along with my dad, 2 brothers and sister-in-law Jo!

They came to film our friendly with Manchester United in the summer, and we all got on the final report!

Mine was featured on Blood of the Vikings the other day. Apparently the English won some big battle to fend off the Vikings. Very exciting!

Incidentally, I notice around three quarters of all of the answers above are for items which local news has covered. Doesn't this show just how important local news is and how excited people get when they see their home town on telly? If only the bosses trying to dumb down local news would take note...

Ilford was on London Tonight again but for all the wrong reasons. A somalian boy was killed in Little Ilford (borders between Ilford & Manor Park).

I live in an insignificant little town in north Warwickshire called Bedworth. One day in the mid 1990s, The Big Breakfast's 'down your doorstep' came to a housing estate round the back of my then school, Nicholas Chamberlaine Comprehensive (I think I was in year 9 at the time).

At that time it was the perpetually annoying Keith Chegwin who fronted DYD. I wasn't watching TBB that day, and only found out they'd been nearby once I got to school (friends who had watched TBB earlier that morning told me about it). It was about 8:55am by the time I was at school, so DYD were probably just leaving.

Typical... the first and only time in all eternity that telly come to my crappy town, and I miss out on it!!! Sad gggrrrrr!!!
