OK here we go, the only appearances I can remember are on The Big Breakfast, the first time was about 18 months ago (incidentally with my old Business Studies teacher), and more recently a couple of months ago. The Mayor was also on the BB recently and came second (to the afore mentioned Newport I think) to get the Xmas lights turned on by Mike. Other mentions include The Detectives Xmas Special a couple of years ago (I think they were alikening it to a manky wild west town), on the Brass Eyes Paedophile special and on Maid Marion (I think [less sure about this] saying that if they weren't careful people like those from Nuneaton could appear or somert), its also (and my school) been on the news a few times but as I get CN East i'm not sure. There are others but I can't think of anything, Ison might remember others.

BURNLEY

We are always in the sports headlines. We seem to be on the news with rafik maliq becuase he is always complaining about the riots in burnley and how a copper beat him up in the riots. Burnley is always in the news. It was on Granada Today with Rafiq on. The only good things about burnley on the news are the footy teams. Everything else is bad. There is so much trouble in Burnley they have expanded our local radio station news from 3 minutes to TEN minutes. It's no good.

Yeah I know what you mean, I recently moved out of Lidget Green area of Bradford, because they were setting cars on fire, right opposite our house!

My primary school (Edgware Junior) was used as the setting for a Channel 4 Schools English programme in the mid 90s it was based around some detective thingy. Thats about it except for when Mayor Livingstone came down our local high street campaigning for Labour during the election campaign (we're a marginal seat) and got on Newsroom South East.

Bromsgrove, Worcestershire (laest speltable country in britan)

- Central News filmed some report about left handed scissors or something at a local primary school. My mom is in some of the filler shots of a classroom, as she teaches there. There was also a signed picutre of one of the Central News presenters (the woman with the weird hair, somthing Malin IIRC) in the reception, but I dont seem to remember her doing the report I saw, so it may of been a differnt report...

- Eitehr Central News or Midlands Today did some report of all the fancy computer equipment South (Bromsgorve High School) had got (along with CCTV etc.). Gits. North (BHS, the one I go to) doesnt have any of this fancy stuff, and they seem to be loaded...

- BBC Breakfast News did a report about school funding at North, but I was on exam leave. I did a display for Media Studies in the classroom the end oif the report was filmed in, but they didnt show that wall...

- Top Gear filmed some stuff in the high street earlier this year. I was in MacDonalds when they were signing copys of Tog Gear Magazine. Damn!

- The Queen visited North (hah! beat that South! Wink), whioch probably got into the local news...

- I think they filmed some Vox Pops for Midlands Today in Bromsgrove High Street a few years ago as well...

- An episode of Holby City (may of been the first) had them going by helicopter to another hospital for something. I think they used a closed local mental hospital for exteriors (it had the water tower similar to the one Barnsley Hall used to have (it got bulldozed with most of the hospital to make way for yet more housing estates...)).

I think some Channel 5 thing when it had just started did some filming at school as well (something Christmas related IIRC). I also think The Big Breakfast did something as well...

My town was on a weather programme on ITV a couple of nights ago showing a tornado. Only about a mile away from me. I grabbed my PC, TV Card and TV got in the bath and put a mattress on top. All I could hear was tumbleweed slowly drifting past.

Well my town sort-of-appeared on the TV a few years back. I cant remember the programme(although when I do, I'll edit this) but it starred Robson Green(I think thats his name).

I think it was called something '... Evil', and they wanted some place which looked all dirty and nasty.... so they filmed it at our Bus Station. Says alot about Stanley(Ne of England) doesnt it!!

I used to live in a place called Stratford in London. It was on London Tonight the other night. Ronnie O'Sullivan leaving court, aquitted of a drink driving offense.
WPC Nina Mackay, who died after being stabbed as she called at an address.
An air ambulance team saved a man's life by performing open heart surgery as he lay on the pavement outside the pub where he was stabbed. This story made national headlines too and was featured on 999.
Ronnie Wood recently a guest on Frank Skinner recalled when several members of the Rolling Stones were fined for urinating up a garage wall in Stratford. It caused a scandal at the time.
Stratford fire station featured in an episode of Londons Burning
and a scene for Minder was shot outside the shopping center.
Nightclub shootings, The Channal Tunnel Link. And Jack Dee talking about his escape from the Big Brother house in Bow said, he got as far as Stratford, got scared and went back.
