Has your town been on TV?

I thought this may be an interesting topic..

Has your town/village been featured on television?

Mine was, tonight - Sleepers, Channel 4.

It was about exposing racists. The documentary really opened my eyes, I did not think the town was as bad as that.

I recognised nearly everyone there, and I am very shocked at the attitude of some of them.

So, has your town been on TV?

Yep the Christmas lights switch on was televised live on Calendar a fortnight ago!

Plus, a documentary 'Yorkshire by Canal' presented by Steve Le Fevre passed through my town as well.

Yeah, the leisure centre in my town was on Blue Peter a few years back.

Yes mine, but quite some time ago! It was on Reporting Scotland and Scotland Today!

Mine was - these women shopping and bitching trying to spend £2000 on a new look. BBC2 I think about 8.30.

Mine made first story on the News at Ten once, stupid bus wars in Darlington...

Oh I forgot, mine was on News at Ten aswell.

My town has apparently been on Crimewatch, someone told me that today when we were talking about last nite's episode!

Mine was also on East Midlands Today at 6:30

Newcastle - All the time.

My other home - Coningsby/Tattershall : Any time their is a news story/documentary about the Battle of Britain squadron.

I'm not saying where I live, but the village (which has about 10 people in!) had a murderer! It was about 20 years ago, but the man wrapped the lady in thier carpet, and drove her to the woods, and burned her! I live round the corner from 'the house'!

Also, a few days ago, the village very very close to me (I bet most of you can figure where i live now!) in Bilborough, a lady was put into a suitcase, and murdered (before being put into suitcase )
All the TV vans were out! yay

Hah! The village I live in was put up on the local weather map a couple of years ago. That's about the nearest we got to a mention on the news. Absolutely nothing happens here, and that's the way I like it, I don't want loads of bad stuff happening on my doorstep http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/biggrin.gif

That said, even though the phone box being vandalised by the Newton Aycliffe mob 5 years ago was a big thing, we're still smacked with relatively high insurance because we're in the same postcode area as the town, the beggars Where's the justice, eh?
