According to the sun today, harry potter is going up against world pop idol on itv1on christmas day, i quite like pop idol and i thought harry potter wasn't that impressive, so i know what i'll be watching on christmas day if this is true, but coming from the sun i doubt it, not really a reliable source are they? anyway, what does everyone else think about this supposed idea, and who will you all watch and who will win, i hope world pop idol wins, but i get the feeling that bbc1 might just do it, again
What is 'World Pop Idol' going to be? I won't be watching Harry Potter because I've seen the films and I think they're naff, but I won't be watching TV on Christmas Day anyway.

Harry Potter for me probobaly, i'm not a fan of Pop Idol or it's sub-creations.
neither for me. im not wasting money on some random person who'll never make it in the charts over here anyway unless theyre Kelly Clarkson. and ive seen HP and its not really very good.
Why cant they produce some entertainment shows, like itv of old.
Ive seen harry potter god knows how many times, its a good film, but I'd much rather watch something like the harry hill show, or des o connor tonight, how about a recorded today with des & mel?
Why the audience on this weeks pop idol? Now that its the last 10? They havent had them the weeks before!
They have had a small audience, but this week they had the ex-contestants as they revealed the wild card entrants, as probably revealed in the PI thread.

As for the comments - well I suspect The Sun is just making up a story to try and flush out any TV schedules before Christmas. Either that or just reporting rumours not facts...
Given the choice though I'd view anything other than Pop Idol.
It's dumb TV at it's worst and nothing more than a huge advert for the record company that launches the eventual winner into "stardom".
ITV and it's viewers are being ripped off.

Who cares what happens to the eventual winner? Its bloody good entertainment and thats all that matters!
