TV Burp was brilliant tonight. The Egg song at the end was a bit out of place but you know Harry just wanted something Easter-themed which made it all the more funny anyway.
The Dean Gaffney, Brian Belo bit, again, that in itself is just an excuse to get Z-listers on TV.
If it was it's last series surely Ant and Dec would mention it.
Not necessarily. Not mentioning it - if true - could help avoid any strange knee-jerk reactions from over-zealous disappointed fans.
Like what, I don't know. But the general public can be an obsessive lot (look at the hysteria that such things as boybands have often created), and Saturday Night Takeaway is the typre of show that encourages its audience to be "hyped up" to a certain extent.
Delusional fans (of whoever/whatever) have committed suicide over less. If SNT really were ending, perhaps they'd prefer to "let their fans down gently" by glossing over it.
Whatever other mainstream hyped-up Saturday Night fodder comes along subsequently would soon steal SNT fans' fickle affections, and it might be, say, 2 years or whatever before SNT fans even notice that the show never returned.
As long as Ant & Dec are still doing something or other on some channel or other, their fans will be happy.
I do think it has finally run out of steam. Unless next series they ditch the mousetrap, racing, Ant vs. Dec then its gonna end up plummeting in audience numbers - no matter how suicidal they might be.
Although, it still better than most Saturday night TV...with the exception of TV Burp. Speaking of burp, why do you lot think it was so successful?
Anyone been to a recording of the show? Whats the experience like?
It's a very good atmosphere. You're there for a few hours, have a bit of a warm up, and then go through the whole show, and go back through to re do parts. The audience isn't that big, but everyone is hyped up ready for it. Overall it's always been a great night out.
How does it work regarding watching the clips in the studio?
On TV you get a clip and then it cuts to Harry sat there in a silly costume or something. Surely if they need to spend 5 minutes getting Harry in a costume and walking on, it wouldn't be as funny

You're underestimating how much an audience enjoy being in on the joke.
They will know where to laugh as the set-ups and reveals will be explained to them.
I would still have laughed at the exploding baked potato even knowing what was coming next.

And considering how many people have said they've been this series elsewhere in this thread I reckon a fair few forum members have been to the same recording without realising it!
