Looking at the dates for the recordings of the show, looks like there might be two episodes at Christmas.

They are recording on 13/12/07 & 20/12/07. Recordings start again 17/01/08.

Are the 13 on top of this, or are these part of the 13 week run?

Take a look

http://www.tvrecordings.com/show_detail.asp?ShowID=133

There are 14 dates listed in total.

There's a christmas special and a best of 2007 sounds good. Well done Paul Jackson for finally realising what a star they had in Harry Hill the show been treated much better since he arrived.

And Lee Mack? Gee, now all you need is Tim Vine and you've got yourself a recipe for comedy for people who don't seem to like or know what comedy is.

Which just about sums up the fanbase of Russell Brand to a tee!

Steady!

Each to their own though. I find him funny but can only handle him in stages.

?

Tim Vine is one of the funniest people I've ever seen. I popped his DVD on after lunch last Christmas Day and laughed non-stop until the end. It was clean, it was crap (some of the jokes were terrible) but it was something which I enjoyed.

I'm slightly insulted to think that I fall into the "don't know what comedy is" bracket. I'd rather be associated with Lee Mack and Tim Vine than nearly-female, unfunny irreverent morons such as Russel Brand.

Noel Fielding, though, I am quite fond of.

Tim Vine is very under-rated as a comedian, I don't think he can act though, as I've seen Not Going Out and the acting is similar to what they used to do in The Sketch Show , both of which are funny, but the acting isn't terrific.

I agree that Tim's DVD (if you can still get it) is worth a watch, it is just non-stop, it's something like 300 in one hour, the way he tells them is rather reminiscent of the brilliant Tommy Cooper.

Ah - the old argument of cool comedy versus uncool comedy.

I would argue that Noel Fielding, Tim Vine and whatshisface off The Now Show on Radio 4 are on the same par.

They're all hit and miss for different reasons. Noel (ironically, given his name) probably thinks (or feele he has to be) too cool for school. Nevertheless, as much as at least 50% of The Mighty Boosh is beyond anyone's comprehension, the other 50% is genius. Hit and miss rate.

Tim Vine is 50/50 the other way. More mainstream, and to his no doubt credible shame more associated with the launch of Channel 5, he's still quite a funny comedian. While (on his peak) not as good as Fielding, he probably makes more of an effort in general, so therefore it balances out.

And for the sake of me I can't remember the pair involved in The Now Show who used to have a primetime BBC1 show. Nevertheless, for the audience they're going for, they occasionally hit a massive spot. Therefore doing the exact opposite of the Boosh (ie when you don't expect genius they hit it, as opposed to the Boosh, where you expect genius all the time but it sometimes kicks in) but balancing off quite nicely.

The lesson being - sod crediblity. What's funniy is funny.

The Christmas special was recorded on Thursday and the review of 2007 was done last week (and very good it was too!)
