Well, the good news is TV Burp is returning, but not until early next year as Harry is currently on a nationwide tour Sad

The new series will be longer at 10 episodes.

ITV1's controller of entertainment Claudia Rosencrantz has okayed a fifth season of comedy review series Harry Hill’s TV Burp, this time extending the run to 10 episodes.

The half-hour series will be delivered to the network in early 2006, produced by comedy indie Avalon TV. The show "is one of the freshest and funniest shows of recent years," said Rosencrantz.

Richard Allen-Turner, joint managing director of Avalon, said the greenlight "demonstrates that it is possible to deliver broad, high end comedy entertainment programming to the mainstream schedule of a commercial network with a strong, original idea without compromising the integrity of the performer.”

The fifth season will add to two other ITV series in production at Avalon: new Al Murray-fronted late-night quiz Fact Hunt (7x30') and the fifth season of Baddiel & Skinner & Unplanned.

That's good news - especially as I'm sure Harry Hill said he wasn't going to do any more. Let's hope they schedule it in a better time slot this time.

well seeing as the news was posted 2day, it will take some time for it to be updated on TV Tome!

Good to see that Baddiel & Skinner Unplanned has been given a fifth season, I thought the show had been axed, but last year's excuse was that they revived Fantasy Football instead.

Good to see a date has been given for TV Burp's new run.

There was a press release last summer saying that The Frank Skinner Show and Baddiel and Skinner would be returning in the Autumn, with a new series of Shane in early stages. Obviously Baddiel & Skinner never turned up, and Shane hasn't as of yet, though neither has Monkey Trousers which is apparently finished. I'm hoping that we won't have to wait until next year for Baddiel & Skinner too.

Plus how do you work on a programme that is topical and not scripted? The set will most probably remain, as will the titles, so it's just a matter of getting them on air, surely!

It'd be nice, but very unlikely I'm afraid. Getting clearance for commercial release of all the clips would be a complete nightmare.
