Can't get more iconic than this. The grand introduction, stunning title sequence, the live orchestra. Makes a refreshing change to anything that's on TV nowadays.

Family Fortunes kept the same theme. Just not the original theme!

Huh? These are three totally different themes.
1980, Bob Monkhouse

1990s, Les Dennis

2008, Vernon Kay

You mist out this one, which was also the remade for the Gameshow marathon Wink

All the themes for Family Fortunes from Les' era onwards is the same, just reworked....

To say All Star's theme tune is a reworking of the 90s theme is debatable. It's sounds to me like a completely different melody.

Exactly. And that one I supposedly missed out? The 90s one is a remix of it - same theme. What I posted was three completely different themes, to prove the point that the current one doesn't match the earlier versions.

I have some doubts about, and I would say the current theme is based on the 1987 version, well maybe the 2002 theme.

I think the Tumble Towerese word "tommyrot" is the appropriate word for those who think it's the same.

It is obviously a (heavily) remixed version of the theme from the Les Dennis era. I don't know how anyone couldn't hear that.

It's more noticeable when you compare it to the last version.

That's what I was meaning, every version on wards from Les, has been a reworking of the 1987 version and Ash Alexander and Simon Darlow rearranged the All Star version. On a side note, is Ash Alexander any relation to Mike Alexander who did the original 1987 theme?

And just if anyone was in any doubt, here's a comparison between the 2001 and 2007 themes.
