It had potential but Harry running from Adele around ITV Towers for five minutes every week and Brian Belo playing a kids play pen should be left for some other kind of show. The irrelevant sketches is what turned me off from week one.

Here is the trouble if you plays SITE straight, its kinda like everything else...
I'd rather it was played straight and having something actually decent to watch on a Saturday night.
I watched the first episode and cringed so much I turned it over. Are ITV scared of doing things normally for once instead of all the nonsense added onto it...

If it did ITV would get moaned at for just bring back every single format and not coming up with brand new ideas.
Nobody has really complained about any of the shows they've revived - it's just they have to get them right and I think in most cases they've all returned for at least a second series. Although many people might not like Keith Lemon but somehow Through the Keyhole with him worked and allowed him to be Keith Lemon without compromising the format, and similarly 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown doesn't really compromise the format and is a great show in it's own right.
Stars in their Eyes as part of a Harry Hill sketch show just hasn't worked at all. Another revived format might have worked as a more slapstick affair (e.g. Catchphrase with sketches rather than animations) but this is one to consign to history.
I hope it doesn't come back. It has been car crash tv from start to finish. None jokes and silliness rolled together with a bottom of the barrel karaoke show. That isn't entertainment at all. itv seem to have forgotten what Saturday nights are about when pushing this garbage out. RIP SIYE!
I actually thought that most of last night's show was fairly good. The start of the show was definately a nod towards past Stars in their Eyes live finals (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYtUElkhZP0 ). I think it's safe to say Harry's more than aware of the mix reviews his version has received, with his Matthew Kelly 'tattoo' having had tears "added by the tattoo artist". There's also been a few passing comments in previous episodes where he's made reference to it.
This has evolved. It really has. The benefit of recording a couple of days prior to airing has really helped to tweak things based on feedback.
How do you work that out ? It was basically the same show from start to finish. Even down to the 'bread demand planning' sketch. By all accounts it didn't change enough because the audience switched off in droves - that's the feedback that ITV need to take into account.
You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. The drift away from TV Burp style antics was obvious from the second episode. It didn't need major changes - at the end of the day the key element is it's showing off both the skills of the people who sing and the people who work in make-up and costume.
The Feb 7th edition of Stars In Their Eyes actually rose to 2.35m viewers which was higher than Jonathan Ross attracted for that week. This week's Not Live final attracted 2.18m. Up from its low point of 1.86m, but that being said, better than Planet's Got Talent.
The fact of the matter is 2.3 million isn't enough for a prime time Saturday night show on ITV, especially when the BBC are getting in excess of 8 million and I predict SNT will probably get at least 6-7 million when it starts next week. If you go by the numbers, SITE was not remotely successful for the slot it was in.
