This has evolved. It really has. The benefit of recording a couple of days prior to airing has really helped to tweak things based on feedback. The other issues that need fixing really only came to light too late in the day for this series, so if a second series does get the go ahead, hopefully Harry and the team can work on them.
Harry Hill is filming another pilot soon for ITV which hopefully it a better fit than this one. I'm 90% certain if Stars in their Eyes does return next year they will replace him as host and play it straight - they're not going to recommission it as it is based on ratings of less than 2m.
P.S. Anyone know if the Bill Bailey Name That Tune reboot was picked up for a series?
I also hope this gets a second series. It's gotten better every episode.
It had potential but Harry running from Adele around ITV Towers for five minutes every week and Brian Belo playing a kids play pen should be left for some other kind of show. The irrelevant sketches is what turned me off from week one.
To be fair, I wouldn't mind it coming back for a second series. I was a little harsh on it after the 1st show but it has grown on me and it is quite funny TBH. I think once you've got your head around how Harry presents the show and they way it is completely different to Matthew, Leslie, Cat, Davina and Russ, then it's fairly watchable!

How do you work that out ? It was basically the same show from start to finish. Even down to the 'bread demand planning' sketch. By all accounts it didn't change enough because the audience switched off in droves - that's the feedback that ITV need to take into account.
The fusion of Harry Hill with Stars in their Eyes was doomed from the start. Harry Hill fans are unlikely to welcome the distraction of a singing contest & fans of the singing contest wanted it played straight without the distraction of HH's sketches. It pleased nobody and the audience evaporated.
