Yet the best singers keep on winning.

Was Derek Acorah in one of the sketches, or did they just bring him on for the end of the show number, which either way is still brilliant

Definitely toned down on the 'Harry Humour' this week, though there were still some surreal and mystifying bits. What on earth Derek Acorah was doing there beats me. Still think it's totally not right for Stars in their Eyes and the singing contest by itself can carry itself.
The quality of the singing was good this week. Frankie Valli was great and he was genuinely chuffed that he won. But I think that Tina Turner got the biggest laugh of them all, Harry wasn't needed at all for that one!

Now is it possible that maybe 30 something(?) men aren't really the right demographic for a singing competition presented by Harry Hill?
My kids absolutely love it (6, 4). Maybe it's aimed at a younger audience, and not those who were twelve when Leslie Crowther presented it the first time round.
That said, I personally find Harry Hill's touches very funny.

Watching the Leslie Crowther version on challenge and the show definitely wasn't as smooth and polished as it became under Matthew Kelly's reign. The act just was a scaffolder and was therefore wearing a hi-vis jacket and helmet in front of a painting of bricks before entering the doors. I didn't realise that they added elements that meant something to them. The different doors for entry and exit looked awful, but it flowed very quickly without even VT's.
For the Harry Hill version, I'm liking the added humour and Harry's personality and I like the fact that the show doesn't take itself too seriously.

It's definitely a vehicle for Harry Hill rather than a serious reboot of Stars In Their Eyes, I think Harry has pretty much admitted as much in interviews.

I don't recall seeing her very often, and I was a pretty avid TV Burp viewer. I wouldn't consider as much of a staple as Heather or the Knitted Character.
Didn't he do the Adele sketches on TV Burp too?

Ouch, and ratings were dire to begin with. I'd be very surprised if this wasn't scrapped mid-run. It's too valuable a slot and is this really the best ITV can dish out to spoil The Voice?
I accidentally stumbled across the fact that there was a New Zealand version of Stars In Their Eyes made a few years back, with a much cheaper looking version of the UK set, and their own version of the theme tune:

I dont think it will get canned, ITV will have to stick with its for the next four weeks, what else could ITV place in this 1 hour slots agiast the voice? for all the problems etc to find a cheap replacement which I doubt do any better...
