Harry Hill to present Stars in their Eyes

Far too many stairs on that Cat Deeley/end of Mathew Kelly set and I don't remember many of them being used for much at all - especially around the doors.

The new set looks simple, but a good play on the star design.

It would be unfair to judge the set from a photo taken off a mobile phone, so I'll reserve judgement until it's seen on screen.

Is that canned applause for the trailer? It is so lifeless. You'd have thought they would have used or asked the audience to go mad like they do on every other show. Instead, this sounds like Countdown applause, so slow and quiet as the audience are to old to clap fast or are totally unenthused by the programme they're watching!

That promo looks like it was done in front of a green screen to be honest.

This morning's GMB showed a glimpse of the programme showing how he is incorporating sketches and a musical opening where by he sings words to the theme tune in the style of a different artist each week.

It looks like the pre going through the doors segment is now done from a living room setting - not sure if this is to represent the contestants living room or just a generic one. It looks like it'll be a fun show.

Yes, here are some screenshots from the 'living room' where the contestants will be interviewed. This version is going to be different to the previous incarnations it seems which always took it very seriously.

Guess its a departure from all the 'worthy' singing contests we have now, The Voice, XF and the like. Not certain how this will fare, if you don't like Harry Hill you probably aren't going to enjoy this version. Harry Hill seems very marmite.

And that looked to be a new ITV ident to introduce it.

Everything I've seen so far wouldn't be that far out of place on TV Burp to be honest with the right linking material - especially the "groom a dog in the back of a van" skit.

And the first singer has already dropped the Tonight Matthew clanger. Although she's so far over the top in the intro VT it's hard to tell whether it was a genuine mistake or not

Now singers get a giant novelty pencil! Woo!
Oh yeah, I noticed the ultimate trophy they're singing for says "Stars In Their Eyes Winner 2016" on it.

Would that make the total 5 new idents since the 1st Januaray?

Oh god, what have they done? I'm not liking this TV Burp mash up.

After watching that first break, considering the TV Burp style sketch, I'd rather he brought back TV Burp instead of ruining a classic format.
