Huh. I thought it would fit better on ITV4.

Yes, but it's not like the programme itself makes a choice of where it work best. The programme goes to the channel offering the most money. Rolling Eyes

Obviously I understood that. But as ITV own the programme, you would think ITV would pay the most for reruns to a very popular programme that would boost the schedule of one of its smaller digital channels.

But surely Avalon are going to sell it to whoever offers them most. The BBC and Five let re-runs of their commissions go to other digital operators, so why wouldn't ITV.

It obviously was worth more to Cartoon Network, the commissioners at ITV 4 where probably spending there money on the new Europa League contact.

It's fit in with ITV 2's portfolio more surely, hence why they show the repeats.

There can't be many channels that would want to repeat old episodes anyway given the fairly topical nature of the programme.

Classic TV Burp to show up on Cartoon Network Bit of an odd choice of channel and time - weren't the early series a bit on the naughty side?

Won't get a lot of mileage out of Custard, it only lasted 13 episodes.

With regards to TV Burp, it'll almost certainly be cut to shreds like (original pre-animation) Mr Bean is when it airs on Nickelodeon.

It's not on Nickelodeon at all now, thankfully, but one edit I noticed in The Return of Mr Bean was they cut out the part where Mr Bean stays on the escalator too long and doesn't realise he's at the top, yep, they cut that out.

They cut everything that could be considered teaching children unsafe habbits, but at the same time as those heavily edited episodes were airing they were showing the original versions on Paramount Comedy.

Different target audiences though. Paramount Comedy viewers probably already know not to drink washing detergent or ram three wheeled cars off the road (accidentally or otherwise) at every opportunity going.

Realistically Mr Bean (live) was only added to Nickelodeon because they were airing the animated series (which was also partially aired on CITV). Never quite understood why they didn't just leave it at those. Although I suppose Ren & Stimpy was probably more controversial than Mr Bean.

That was for the slightly more mature MTV demographic though, wasn't it?

Isn't that almost the whole series?

Not getting dressed while driving, doing DIY cutting through wires, eating sticks, using fireworks to paint with, playing with electricity in department stores etc etc
