Has anybody got a clip of the original Amanda Lamb bit from years ago?

She was on Star Psychic Sally Morgan and Harry made the song because the programme said Morgan had read stars such as Robert De Niro and Michael Jackson. So when "a Place in the Sun presenter, Amanda Lamb" was announced, he started a celebration. The link between this song and the original is so tenuous though and people can probably barely remember.

Think I remember that, was it one of those where they go and "Amanda Lamb" and Harry looks at the Camera and goes "who?" Rolling Eyes Also was the song not "Everybody Knows Amanda Lamb" then?

I thought last night was ok, best bit was Heather popping up then Harry saying, "who is that over there then?" Laughing

It was that sort of thing, yes. It was the same tune but literally just "Amanda Lamb" repeated over and over again. It was much shorter and had can can dancers and a big poster with her face came down at the end.

Definitely right that the show's finished. I haven't enjoyed it for about four years...although saying that I was in the audience in January 2009 and it was still ok, but by the end of that year the decline was definitely there.

For me its heyday was 2004-6! The first series I caught was Series 3 (early 2004) and it was utterly hilarious, remember crying with laughter so much at it that year. I wonder sometimes if it's simply because I got older and more used to the humour...but then discovering some old 2006 episodes on video a while back, I laughed at them just as much as I did then!

The last really really memorable and funny moment I remember was (Ear) Cataracts.

Ear cataracts??

Indeed. The show needed to end. As mentioned above, the observational humour certainly reduced and the show verged on the silly and disgusting way too much. Some say the knitted character featured too much, but I disagree. Things like "where has the knitted character been this week?" in my opinion were brilliant. Even the K factor was quite good. Wagbo on the other hand, just wasn't funny.

Echoing above. I think it's a shame in a way that the show ended on the wrong sort of high, metaphorically speaking, the last few years it seems the show took too many happy pills and pretty much partied itself out like a narcotic student!

It's certainly a show that'll be missed when you watch other shows and realise there's nothing quite like TV Burp that could pick up on the funny scenes, props, awkward dialogues etc you've noticed.

Thanks Harry. All the best to Dom Joly's new show!

It was great to see that one again, especially TV Burp in the 70's

I have found 6-8 DVD's of the series from 2007 & early 2008, although I still enjoyed it by the end, that was definitely the "golden era" (for want of a better phrase).

I think part of it was due to the programmes still on TV, Freaky Eaters, The Bill, Heartbeat, The Royal, The Royal Today, Bear Grylls & Nick Baker feature heavily throughout the series and gave some great moments in the series, unfortunately a lot of them had gone by the end of series, with the alternative programmes that replaced them just not providing the material, if you get what I mean.

This is one of those shows that I am going to miss. I've been in the audience for it several times in the last two years and it was was great to see it live.

Oddly enough I have it twice, from a very buggy episode on ITV 2 (the reception back in 2007 was s***e in Ilford for ITV 2) and from that repeat of The Best of 17.

If anyone can advise how I can burn off of a DVD RW onto a PC I will happily do it for you but I'm still not sure how to copy video's off of DVD's

Google AOA DVD ripper, it's basic, but if you're only copying small chunks of your DVD R/RW's it does the job.
