I've just spotted this:
BBC Entertainment story

I used to find Harry Enfield and Chums quite funny but the last couple of series were dire. I can't see a new series working, unless it's other Sketchbook type series.

Well his series on Sky One back in 2000 was panteysh!tey. Let's hope he doesn't use those writers Laughing

I think his early work was the best, which luckily UKTV G2 are showing on a regular basis these days, though some sketches tend to drag on a bit, they seemed more funnier compared to his later shows.

The last time Mr Enfield was back at the BBC he was in that really awful sitcom about a rock star, which luckily was soon forgotten.

I do think that Harry's material may be slightly dated now thats the only problem - whether he comes up with new stuff or not. It was funny for its time and I loved it.
