UK Government logo was on the endcap. Another one supported by the scheme?

All this talk about cropping and replacing the endcap, will this have been done years ago for previous showings on an ITV channel, rather than a current decision made in 2020?

ITV2 (and more recently ITV4) have been airing them cropped for some time.
When they used to appear on ITV3 they were in the original 4:3 aspect ratio.

This is not a new thing.

Corrie aside, there can’t be many times ITV has shown a 31 year-old programme in primetime, never mind a comedy.

Like most of the commercial TV market, only selected archive material seems to work. Airing copious amounts of it ad-nauseam and randomly doesn't. It has to be cherry picked and preferably wide screen.

We saw that Challenge have shown archive material without much success, so they've come back to more recent material. Years ago the channel showed more 4:3 material than it did 16:9 as a whole, including presentation and adverts - a trend which has been sadly reversed and now 4:3 content is only limited to about half a dozen different shows.

And Corrie isn't a good comparative example. They are new episodes of the show, its not like they're airing episodes that were first made in 1990. ITV3 on the other hand... Smile
