Antiques Roadshow Facts:
1. The first ever Antiques Roadshow was filmed in Hereford and presented by Bruce Parker.
2. A couple flew in specially from New Zealand with a brooch. The expert had to tell them that its value did not match the price of their air tickets.
3. There have been 509 programmes filmed at 425 different venues over the past 30 years.
4. The owner of a blue and white bowl thought it was a "rather fancy soap dish" when she bought it in a junk shop for 25p. She was speechless when told it was an 18th century English delft ware 'bleeding bowl' worth £5000 - £6000.
5. In 2007, the pop world came to the Roadshow. In Swansea, Marc Bolan's guitar and a set of his stage clothes caused a stir. The guitar was valued at £40,000.
6. A painting of cats, bought at a car boot sale for 50p, was brought along by a lady in Inverness. It was identified as the work of 18th century Belgian artist Henrietta Ronner, the 'queen of cat painters', and valued at a minimum of £15,000. It was later auctioned for £22,000.
7. The owners thought it was a type of print and were about to put it in the shed. It was found to be a lost work by Richard Dadd, entitled Artists Halt in the Desert. It was bought by the British Museum in 1987 for £100,000.
