Happy birthday C4.
I remember watching it through a " screen of snow " as the area I lived in at that time didn't get C4.
Anyone remember any of the Saturday comedies at 4.35pm? I can only remember Mama Malone...

Saturday Nights on C4 have never really been successful, especially with the BBC and ITV giving them a right hammering.

Shame. I remember C4 used to be great with it's Top 10 and 100 Greatest shows.. even though I suppose they were cheap and repetitive after a while at least they were entertaining.

And especially now C4 have stopped commissioning programming for Saturday nights, meaning it's just reruns and movies.

And of course there were the hit and miss shows such as Don't Forget Your Toothbrush, Last Chance Lottery and Boys and Girls.
The bigger loss though is probably the documentaries - they may not have got huge audiences, but they offered an alternative and up until quite recently 2 hour documentaries regularly filled the slot.
