I do sometimes feel like a relative newcomer to the forum so it's mad to think that TVF is 18, and that I've actually been here for nearly ten years of it! Think I just spectated for a good while beforehand too so god knows how long I've actually been visiting...

Of course, i missed the heyday of the forum in 1923 but have definitely been around for some weird and wonderful moments, although I think my favourite of these in recent times is actually from Metropol, when someone (who I think was a TV Forum member originally) came over and offered to buy the place! Plenty of in-jokes followed and then it was of course ruined by barcode!

Happy birthday TV Forum!

Ah, yes, the black tie thread.......

Haha, I didn't realise you started that thread. Just looked it up again. To be fair it was a bizarre coincidence but the forum went a bit crazy.

Totally forgotten about that. Definitely a highlight. I'm pretty bad at remembering these things unprompted, it took me a while just to think of all the stuff I listed in my post!

What a bleak world that would be.

Maybe the TVARK forums would have carried on?

No, they'd have closed for a few weeks for site rebuild and never seen again

Even if they lasted longer originally, they'd have certainly gone a couple of years ago when the whole site went down.

I love the fact that the complaints about TVF being "overtaken by illiterate 14 year olds" started so early on.

No-one has mentioned Jarongate as another all time classic TVF moment.

Ah I know about Jarongate but I’m afraid that was before my time. Wish I’d been here from the start as it always felt like I’d missed out on lots despite joining when TVF was only four years old!

18 years eh? Back at the start I was living abroad and it was a very welcome way of keeping up with what was happening back home on TV. And here we all are still!

Congratulations, Asa, on the forum's continued success!
