Only been here for a short time period compared to most others, but I wish a happy anniversary and a long life to the TV Forum, probably one of the most lively places on the internet to talk, share, and exchange about television.

I see the style of conversation hasn't changed much.

This is an example of how the messageboard page looked. For full authentic effect it must be viewed in IE5 with 800x600 resolution

Wow - 18 years?! That makes me feel very old. Been here since not long after the beginning, and I daren’t even start to contemplate how many days, weeks or, more likely, months of my life I’ve spent on here.
Thanks to Asa, the mods, and everyone who posts on here for making TV Forum what it is.
If only I had a jumper with an owl on it to wear today in celebration. [Another old, obscure reference.

Didn't happen, reason was never established.

Still waiting for a TVF meet up, which I think was mooted at one stage but never came to fruition. Unless everyone went without me.

I've already said it elsewhere, but why not here too. Happy 18th Birthday TV Forum, and don't do anything too wild today. So many people are always keen to write off traditional forums in a world of big 'soshal meedya' platforms now, but this place continues to be a great place for information and discussion and I hope it continues for many years to come.
(Now, everyone get over to the Mocks Forum if you've not already for pip2's latest contribution for the day. Certainly beats a picture of a train!)

Yes, happy 18th, TV Forum! Enjoy it, but don't do anything I wouldn't do!
Although I've not actually been a member on here for very long, I have been reading the discussions and admiring the mocks for more than a decade, and find it wonderful that such a unique corner of the internet is still going strong after all these years. And it's fascinating to look back on the old threads and realise just how dramatically TV, the media, and the world in general have all changed over the past 18 years.

TV Forum memories:
-Black tie thread
-Tyne Tees website relaunch
-Digital Spy "acquiring" Metropol
-Danslink and his "metaphorical puke"
-2010 election and the famous Twitter account spun off from it that we're apparently not allowed to mention
-The heated Sky News gaffer tape debate
-Sky News live feed which kept the cameras on during the breaks
-Riaz's obsession with the TVS archive
-Sheffield Live
With apologies to those of you who had to put up with my stupid posts in the early years.

Why not bring it back as a birthday treat.
