Well, the Channel 5 schedule for past New Year's doesn't look promising:

Quote:
Jan 1st into Jan 2nd

1:45 - Criminals: Caught on Camera
2:10 - Teleshopping
3:00 - Access (entertainment news, usually used as a film breaker)

So, it does seem we are getting Teleshopping.

Is Access the same as the US show formerly known as Access Hollywood with a Live countershow.

No, it's a presenter standing in front of a green screen reporting on the latest showbiz news.

And very similar to F.Y.I, ITV2-4's movie filler also produced by ITN Productions.

Actually, I might be getting it confused with that.

Whatever happened to classics such as In Bed With Medinner, Asian Eye, Central Jobfinder and God's Gift?? That was when overnight TV was worth watching. Quiz Call and Quizmania were also great. Now, nighttime TV is non existent.

In Bed With Medinner was great. Wikipedia calls it a precursor to TV Burp which I suppose is true. Didn't he play everything off a Umatic machine next to him?

And don't forget Nightwatch with Steve Scott.

That was actually quite good, though it was just made up of content from ITV regional shows (shortly before ITV axed them). Then got repeated incessantly.

It was a Beta SP machine when it was 'In Bed with Medinner' and he upgraded to a Digibeta for 'Still in Bed With Medinner'

If they ever brought it back, he’d need an EVS panel, and edit screen !
