I put Sky News on when the BBC email alert arrived, they had a strap up but weren't talking about it because they were in yet another deep involved debate on Islam. BBC News 24 had a former Top Gear presenter on the phone just now.

Sky News reporting that the jet-powered car was travelling at 280mph.
Best wishes to him.

I hope he doesn't end up the same way as Steve Irwin. Can we bear to have 2 well-loved television presenters die in the same month?

Agreed.
Let's hope they don;t need to use the Hammond Organ Donor Card.

I'm sure he'd appreciate such a beautifully expressed thought.

That's what he said on MSN. He is near a television, but I don't have one in my bedroom!
I expect we should get an update soon from BBC news.
