Yes, but they could've just put a smaller DOG on couldn't they?
The Guardian displayed its typical 'we hate Hamilton' stance today. Never fails to get a dig in at the couple.
For those of you unaware, The Guardian un-earthed this 'cash for questions' scandal quite a few years ago, and have persisted that their - somewhat dubiously credited - reports are still true. Hamilton is obviously trying to defend himself against the whole thing, so as you can imagine The Guardian don't get on very well with the Hamiltons.
Could someone post a capture of this Sky News stuff? I caught the appauling, self-promotional mock of News 24's graphics, but not the Sky graphics.
Christine was a bit... flirtatious, The Guardian at least have a point when they say that. Can't blame here, Louis is an attractive young man and she's a... we'll say no more.
Just a thought, but won't the BBC N24 footage look really silly when the program is repeated on BBC Choice? I mean, 2 channel idents, 2 bbc.co.uk web addresses and 1 clock - all overlaying each other!
I thought the show was great. But Louis's sanity always worries me. I think he is more devious than anyone gives him credit for. Do we really believe he was drunk when Christine was flirting with him? And c@t. He's young and attractive?
Anyway, my point. I have worked in many edit suites when the producer of a programme will ask 'can you make this look like .....?' With limited time and no exact references, you knock up your best.
I don't think it was a N24 promotional thing. A programme with no connection to 'News' would not do that. So maybe the prod asked if this footage can have dogs and lives on it like N24's. Everyone in the suite will deny ever having seen News24 (always happens - nobody in TV ever watches TV). The editor will come up with something from vague recollection and the producer saying 'yes, no, up a bit, smaller, bigger, that's good' etc.
It's always very vague, and if you don't have any point of reference infront of you, you're not going to get it exactly right. Time is money, and sitting in an edit suite costing anywhere from £250/hour upwards you are not going to waste much time for something only to illustrate a point. Apart from anoraks, I guess no one else even noticed/cared.
