The show's producers obviously decided to add the DOG's etc as News 24 will only have had a 'clean' version of the actual broadcast. Recordings are not kept with the 'astons' etc.

Fair enough and I suppose thats good practice, but couldn't they have done a better job mocking them up! everything was wrong.
I thought the show was good, Louis is very good at these.
Didn't Anne complain about her show and threatern to sue? I hope they show the worst bits just to spite her! After the Hamiltons were so good about it, they are on the Big Breakfast this morning and are happy with the show, Christine did want one part removed but it wasn't her flirting with Louis, she didn't admit what it was but it was apparently fairly insignificant.

The programme had 3.8 million viewers, with 17.7% share. It peaked at 10:15pm with 4.2 million viewers.

Not as big as I thought it would be!

Last week, the same slot had 3.2 million viewers for Blood of the Vikings, 14.4% share.

I didn't watch it for the reason that Louis Theroux is a prat. His show is rubbish, and he was rubbish on Weakest Link Xmas Special 2000.

I watched it and thought it was one of the biggest load of contrived publicity stunting on behalf of the H's that I've seen for a long time. Is it just pure coincidence that the time they are having a documentary about them made they just happened to be arrested and create one of the biggest news stories of the year? I think not. I'm not usually cynical about this sort of thing but it really smelt of something funny (or was that my remote control overheating??)

I saw the show, I thought it was fantastic, The Hamiltons are just fantastic, funny and just the best. I loved the bit when they have just came from the police in the car, and neil is saying if he had been curcamsized(?). Fantastic, get these people back on TV, let them take over 'This morning' , give them their own channel.

Also did you see how much alcohol Christine Hamilton got through - virtually every shot of her she was holding a wine glass! I thought Christine was fantastically funny it's obvious she was putting on a show as an hysterical OTT upper middle class woman - Neil tried to be funny but wasn't.

Back to the thread, I couldn't believe why they had those DOGS. I mean, the News 24 logo was far too big, the URL has never been seen on News 24 before and the clock was in white!

Why did they do this? I mean, was there a need to put astons etc on the footage?

BTW: Sky News, it was in widescreen wasn't it? I mean, the footage looked really small compared to what Sky News is now.

I think it's already been explained why they had the DOGs and astons on the footage. It could have looked a bit closer to the real thing though.

And Sky News footage in the programme was widescreen, yes. I suppose that must have been mocked up too - but is it me, or did the Sky News graphics look a much better mock than the News 24 one? Hmmmmm.....

Anyway, I love Louis Theroux (in a non-sexual sense) - he really is a great bloke to watch on telly. The impression I got of the Hamiltons? Well, I was surprised to actually like them after that documentary. OK, they can be a bit weird at times, but aren't we all? OK, just me then. But seriously, I really did like them - interesting to see them behind the press stories.

DAS - It was a rhetorical question!
