Those of you who watched this (which judging by the way the BBC have been trailing this, should be the whole country), will know they used a clip from News 24 (Joanna Gosling I think) introducing some live coverage of the Hamilton's coming out of their Cheshire house to give a statement.

But for some bizarre reason, they mocked up all the news 24 dogs, LIVE dog and clock (which was even more unrealistic as it was in white).

Very, very odd. Why go to all that trouble when it looked so unrealistic?

Probably because BBC News 24's output is recorded completely clean, and the producer decided to add them to make it clear that it was BBC News 24 coverage and it was what was going out on the News Channels as it was important to the story.

Without the logo, www and clock, the vast majority of viewers and probably most the forum would be unable to tell what the source was.

But they could have done the clock better at least!

Yes, I must admit that I watched it all the way through!

The PC was on so I did manage to get the screenshot. The programme also featured Sky News in their election era graphics - they looked *so* much nicer than now.

Nice big N24 logo there - free advertising?

Hmm... which thread to reply in? I'll take this one seeing as it has a nice screenshot which reminds me quite how AWFUL those graphics looked!

And what was going on with the Sky ones? were they faked too so it could be in widescreen? If so, how come the Beeb can fake Sky's gfx better than their own?!

according to tonights evening mail he meets anne widdecombe in the future and someone else (cant remember who)- and anne widdecombe was in the titles tonight, so the show must have already been filmed - so i wouldnt expect it to be too long before we see the show

The show's producers obviously decided to add the DOG's etc as News 24 will only have had a 'clean' version of the actual broadcast. Recordings are not kept with the 'astons' etc.
