Woot. We managed to get some guy with learning disabilities YouTube account closed. Well done. That's definitely an intellectual victory for us all to feel proud of.
The world wide web is now a better place now we've put a stop to a nasty man re-voicing video clips in his bedroom.
I agree. How can a possibly disabled person on YouTube be this forum's "largest collective nightmare"? Give me a break. And why does this situation warrant a thoroughly over-the-top, somewhat hysterical thread here, in the main TV Forum (and not, if anything, a reasoned discussion somewhere in the Media Websites subforum)?

I agree. If folk are interested in, and have time for '
cleaning up the internet',
there's a gazzilion more appropriate things they should be targeting first !
Well this has become quite a contentious topic and I've personally received some strong feeling from people on it. Whilst there has been some hysteria about it, I think by and large this topic had been quite reasoned. Of course it's not life and death and there is some irony to bringing down a site based on copyright claims which none of us really have a leg to stand on anyway!
On the other hand, learning difficulties or not, we have someone who, if not in the early days, must surely now know the ire of not labelling his mocks as mocks and going to some effort to make copies and disguise work done by other pres fans. To me, that's not really in the spirit of things when we're all meant to have the same interest.
I think given the situation with his account now and without wanting to increase any concerns over potential bullying, the topic should end here.
