Grrrrr, it's not Christmas yet

Okay, this is really taking the mick. Flicking through the shopping channels on Sky today, I noticed that both QVC and bid-up.tv have now got some sort of Christmas decoration thing going on. QVC now has big snowflakes on it's graphics and probably stupid Christmassy idents and bid-up.tv has great big snowflakes stuck to the walls of the studio.

Also, I've just seen a Woolworths Christmas advert for some toys or something. Bah humbug.

As Bob Greaves used to say in his Granada Tonight days, KEEP CHRISTMAS IN DECEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh come on you miserable git - I'm not going to put my decs up yet, but you can't expect people to do all their Christmas shopping from December 1!

It's from about now you get Woolies taking up the whole ad break - either alternating 30 second commercials, or the full 3 minute versions. No-one else gets a look in - must cost a fortune.

I still remember going on holiday in July. We got up at about 2:30am and watched QVC. What was on? 'Christmas in July'! Selling Christmas trees in the middle of July at 2.30 in the morning - and you're complaining about November 7!!

Yes the big 'Wollies Winter Wonderland' promotion kicked off with 3 adverts in the middle of tonight's Corrie.

Plus Sainsburys had 2 xmas adverts in this break too.

The whole advert break was identical across Yorkshire and Granada, and I expect was networked throughout the country?

Yes the 3 Woolworths adverts tonight (starring celebrities) were :

Frank and RICKKKY from Eastenders, Frank saw Ricky and was reminded that he forgot the 'Blank tapes'.

Ant & Dec who were surrounded by girlies and forgot the Pick and Mix

and June Whitfield who bought some Harry Potter stuff, but forgot the Christmas tree !!

I've been seing Christmas adverts for a good week or so now, I'm looking foward to some Christmas Ident paticulary from the BBC, it all depends on wether TWO relaunches or not!

We (in Wales) had the first 2, but the 3rd was someone who had forgotten a pastry brush and remembered when she saw Des Lynam's moustache

The first I saw of Xmas this year was in mid July when the Shop! channel were doing on Xmas special.... nice....

I'm getting worried that the Toys R Us Xmas ad may have been stopped after 9 years-I've just seen a Barbie ad from Toys R Us!

There's a magical place, we're on our way there, with toys there are millions all under one roof... oh, hang on, where was I... oh yeah, Ideal World did a big Christmas launch in August. They did a promo with the presenters sitting outside in a hot tub surrounded by Xmas decorations...
BTW the Barbie/ToysRus ad is for a special Mattel-funded Barbie promotion that ends on November 23rd. Maybe the legendary ad will return after that.... we can only hope...

The best christmas advert has got to be Woolworths' - I can't stand Argos' though, 'Brighter shopping, Brighter christmas' my a***!

That's the one! And you've made me think about that Barbie ad-there was a simular one last year,and the Toys R Us ad appeared sometime in December! I tried to record it last year but I failed-better luck this year then!
