When Rod Hull was dropped by Central, Carol said he walked into her dressing room and said "oh well, it's all over now, I'm no longer going to be your meal ticket." Little did he realise that Central would retain her for three of her own series, which she co-created.
Sad news indeed. Her larger than life personality shines through in this clip, she appeared on Bullseye during her height of her popularity as Grotbags.

I was just rewatching that clip aswell late last night before the news broke. Before she went into telly she had been doing the rounds and had worked some big names: Max Wall, Arthur Askey, Morecambe & Wise, Tommy Cooper.
Its seems here last TV pace was "Lucas and Walliams' Perfect Night In " ten years ago.
This was postage in this thread yet it was changed, So here is this gem again.
Here is a radio interview.
She was brought back for the 20th Birthday bash, that says alot.
Watching some of those old shows on YouTube, it's amazing how much the budget went up for Emu's World/Pink Windmill/Emu's Wide World.
Going from a two set studio with a location scene then going live with a studio audience which I never realised during the Pink Windmill era to recording the last 42 minute series, then being dropped to a 22 min show again before being axed.
It's to the credit of Central that they still saw that working with Carol Lee Scott on a new Grotbags format in the 90s would be another successful show for CITV.
