I have seen the new metallic / blue rotating / swirling hearts only once on Yorkshire, telling us what was coming next (I think they were padding). They are quite different from the normal rotating hearts, I was hoping that they would be introduced as new idents for all GMG stations. But alas, this doesn't appear to be the case, but there must have been some purpose in creating them ? Who knows ? Maybe we will see new hearts idents on GMG stations before the years out.

I think that ITV should go for something a bit more colourful, without the hearts hopefully. In fact, how about something like this?

That's just something I knocked together when I should have been revising.

Here in the Granada region we NEVER get ' coming up next ' for ANY regional programmes only networked ones. Reason? same announcer nattering to Granada, Yorkshire and Tyne Tees viewers at the same time over the end credits of a networked programme.
Soon I bet the same announcers will cover all GMG stations from Leeds. Should be fun for them at junctions.

I don't think LWT would stand for it everytime they introduce a programme they say 'This Is LWT Your Weekend ITV now we join Nicholas Owen for the ITV Weekend News'

The Problem is LWT will always be the odd one out becuase they still say their own name actually has broke free from the heart of life & Do have more local programming in retrospect with Carlton

Clever! But that font is YTVs. Maybe have different colours of something like that for each region?
ie. YTV - green TTTV - light blue Border - dark blue Anglia - yellow Granada - white Meridian - purple LWT - red

Well, that font is Yorkshire's, but like everything else on Yorkshire, Granada have nicked it use it on Granada Tonight and on the weather, and sometimes on regional trailers.

I completely agree with you about having different colours for different regions, anything to get away from the current generic look with them all the same! Urgh!

Actually, look at HTV's 1993 endcap - Yorkshire pinched the font from them!
