Is it my imagination, or did ITV and Channel 4 used to announce each other's programmes in continuity?

no it isnt your imagination itv showed adverts 4 desperate housewives so its been done b4

But they did not promote them in continuity, they just showed the promotions as other adverts. As i have said before you have to go back to 1993 when programmes were cross promoted during continuity, it has not been done since.

Actually it continued right up 'til 1999 when the funding formula stopped - although Channel 4 sold its own advertising after 1993 there was still a safeguard in place for ITV to provide funding if Channel 4 made a loss, hence the continued cross-promotion. However, Channel 4 made a profit every year thus the funding formula was stopped.

ITV schools on 4 also continued into mid-1993, am I right?

how's Greys Anatomy being pitched on other channels?

It was "coming soon" on Monday. Haven't seen a trailer for it since on any channel other than five itself earlier today ( that also said "coming soon" until the end when it said "tonight, after House").

Did anyone catch the junction between house and greys anatomy last night?
Like with the launch of prison break they had all their drama stars promoting their programmes but with inteference...looked really good.
Then they had a promo for the hospital drama with the words 'stay with me' flashing throughout the promo.
And rounding it of we had a special ident which saw the reapperance of the five logo.

Nah, I missed the start of it because Footballers' Wives over-ran (on purpose, I bet).

Didn't Channel 4 show Inspector Morse repeats as well at one stage?

Yes, Four showed a repeat run of Morse around the mid 80s .
