To be fair, the first OFAH series was incredibly patchy and not really very funny. After we had got used to the characters, the second series became Britains biggest sitcom. If the Green Green Grass wasn't a OFAH spin off and we didn't expect too much, then I think people would warm to it better. Give it a chance, it has a lot of potential and compared to Eyes Down, it's funny.

The problem is, in 2005, that programmes have to succeed instantly or face the chop - not the case years ago, which is why OFAH got its second and third series' commissioned.

I always find that a problem, as many of the most sucessful shows had a shaky start and they wouldn't last long today. There's also the fact that many instant hits tire quickly and have a short life span.
