I didn't catch it because I was out and Sky+ didn't bother to record anything that night due to there being "No Signal" despite it actually being clear.
With oodles and oodles of channels and space to repeat episodes of programmes during the course of the week could BBC1 not provide space to repeat anything they show in prime time?

It lost 3m apparently, around the 6m mark.

I hate to say this...but I think John Sullivan's lost something from his early 'Fools' writing.

Nobody wants to say it, but from the 80's onwards (after Just Good Friends finished) his only decent programmes were Only Fools and Horses and everything else he did was rubbish and tanked badly. Even some of those Only Fools episodes were ropey in the late 80's and early 90's. The Christmas special in 1988 when Del met Raquel through to The Jolly Boys Outing were magnificently and consistently funny. The wheels fell off when they aged Del and put Raquel in the flat. Newsflash John!! She ain't funny!! The show was hit and miss from that moment on until the Christmas trilogy, which should have been the end.

I think i've figured out what's missing from this programme - as compared to Only Fools.
It is just pure cold comedy with laughter track after laughter track. I think the reason it is so poor, is because there is nothing to follow. (i.e. in Only Fools..we followed Del and Rodney on their dodgy schemes and sad and happy moments....like Cassandra's birth. There was undeliberate humour along the way.)
I think John Sullivan hasn't really thought this show out well enough. Because there are no storylines - there is no 'real' laughter. There is no drama whatsoever.
Maybe I'm being typical - but i really expect more from this writer, especially if it features characters from one of Britiain's best loved comedies.
