Well I liked it, there's definite promise there. I didn't like Roger Roger or Sitting Pretty at all but Sullivan seems back to form with this one. Only Fools and Horses should have stopped when the Trotters got rich and walked into the sunset. And when it did comeback they gave too many scenes to Raquel and Cassandra who were nowhere near as funny as Trigger, Boycie, Marlene and the others.
You're right - spinoffs are not usually as good as the original programme. The only exception I can think of is Frasier, which was a spin-off of Cheers.
I thought it was fairly good actually, better than I expected.
I actually prefered the first half of the show in Boycie's house in Peckham better than the second half though, which doesn't bode well. The second half was just yet again tired jokes about townies moving to in-bred little villages with wierd characters. The scene with the funny bloke knocking at the door was like a scene straight out of the Vicar of Dibley.
I don't much like the character of the son yet, I hope they don't just have him doing generic stereotypical generation-gap type jokes every now and then
I agree with Andrew. Whilst i was watching the first half i was thinking "this actually isn't going to be that bad"- but then they got to the country and it became a tad too cliche.
