Carol Malia and Wendy Gibson from 'Look North' are roving reporters covering The Great North Run this morning

Obviously not the good Look North, and I wonder if viewers in Yorkshire will be confused, 'I've never seen them presenters on Look North before...'

Also, I noticed that Tyne Tees Television was a board sponsor on the even, but with the 1998-2000 logo...

No Andrew you have it the wrong way way round, it IS the good Look North and viewers in the North east and Cumbria are NOT confused!

I watch both Leeds and Newcasltle editions of Look North regularly, and can't say there's any competiton, the Newcatle LN is extremely dull, presentation wise, Carol Malia is OK, but John Lawrence and Anne Leuchers are not doing them any favours.

Actually Simon I lied!

I never watch LN. I always watch Mike Neville on NE Tonight on Tyne Tees. Just like I used to watch him on LN years ago! Mike is in my opinion - THe BEST!

It's a shame that we only get half an hour of Mike now, the hour-long NET was really good. But I still like NET - though as I can only view the South edition, I don't get the feeling I miss out on the full atmosphere of the main edition.

Mike does not read the run of the mill news strories. I assume when Pam Royle is reading oop north someone like Andy Kluz is reading doon sooth. So you do not miss anything at all of Mike.

The hour long programme was good - but the great God ITV Network scheduler must be obeyed. Therefore one of the few local news progs that was interesting is cut down to the usual 30 mins format. I sometimes wonder why ITV bother to pretend they are local anymore. Local programming is obviously a chore for ITV - tacked on solely to keep their broadcasting licences
