No surprise really.

UTV, the station that says it's an ITV region but isn't part of ITV1, isn't giving us interactivity on this programme. (Thank goodness for 963!)

What about Scottish, Grampian and Channel? Are they left-out, too?

Is the spelling mistake in your topic description (viwers) deliberate, or some kind of attempt at irony ? Laughing

Well, if the station was just an in-joke, that might be all very well, but they are supposed to be a Public Service Broadcaster, and it's their viewers they are letting down.

It was the same with them blocking ITV2 and the ITV Sport Channel a few years back - petty behaviour to the detriment of viewers they are supposed to be serving.

in the same way we are all reminded that itv plc are a company who answer to their shareholders, so are utv. if the people of northern ireland want to wish that itv plc swallow up utv - i suggest they have a word with the viewers in wales, and ask them whether htv/itv's commitment to the people of wales has increased or decreased since the takeover.

for the sake of a crap gaby yorath show and a few recipes on this morning, you would be paying a high price.

UTV is very refreshing to watch STV has gone a bit bland with their on air presentation.

Not just Ulster viewers... all across the UK and I'm sure south of the Border too Wink

It's all to do with the different encoding system used to get the Belfast pictures back to London for uplink to the bird.

It's the same problem that gave all the aspect ratio problems back during the initial testing.

I don't think it's anything to do with UTV, or the "blocking" of ITV2 etc., just a technology restriction with the back-feed.

Come to think of it, perhaps ITV knew that viewers in Northern Ireland always do well in the BBC "Great British..." tests so maybe though giving NI viewers a disadvantage would make the English seem more intelligent Wink

Did Gilly Porter or whoever is on duty make any reference to interactive content introducing the programme?

Although it was the ' Great British Spelling Test' and not the 'Great Britain and Northern Ireland Spelling Test' so NI shouldn't have been taking part in the first place (or the Channel Islands for that matter) Smile
