Holby City currently occupies the slot over on BBC One at that time, so maybe they'll put GBBO on another day in the week. No way should they move it from an 8pm slot - it sits perfectly there at the moment.
Well done to all. This format has simplicity, heart and is simply a pleasure to watch.
The original version of the article said it was, seemingly gleaned from media specualtion.
It's a wonder Dragon's Den never moved in it's peak or Top Gear for that matter, but I suspect the latter is because Sunday nights are usually quite busy for BBC One and Clarkson not wanting it to.
It really is in everyones best interests to leave it where it is - and it's far more of a BBC2 show than something like The Apprentice or even Masterchef.
Is it really a good idea for this show to move to BBC One? It's one of the few mainstream hits for BBC Two in recent times. If BBC Two was stronger then, fine, move it to One, but wouldn't it be better for BBC Two to use this ratings hit to build a new schedule around, and to attract people to the other offerings on BBC Two, in a similar vain to how Channel 4 built their schedule around Brookside, or BBC One building their schedule around EastEnders?
GBBO fits so much better as a programme on BBC Two. And as someone else has said 8pm is a perfect slot. My fear is that if it goes to BBC One it will be stripped across three or four nights like they did with Masterchef and kill it as a format

Except of course they killed Masterchef ultimately by taking it from being stripped across five nights a week to being once a week.
Well even before it moved to BBC2 they killed it by moving it from a fixed 6.30pm slot to still producing five episodes a week but airing them where they could fit them in between 8pm and 9pm - and even worse with the 45 minute versions where they did that, sometimes airing 15 minutes of an episode then the next 30 minutes the next day.
Ultimately though BBC2 needs GBBO a lot more than BBC1 does - and with all it's daytime content being stripped away from it next year it doesn't need to lose it's primetime shows too.
