Amazon Video is always going to be a loss-leader for the company, the objective is to encourage customers to sign-up for a Prime membership. Even during the free trial, if they can get fans of the presenters to buy goods or other Amazon services, then it's a positive.

It surprises me therefore that there is so little Grand Tour merchandise on Amazon itself… a quick check and it only seems to be t-shirts and a hat at the moment.

It does seem a tad strange that Amazon haven't gone down the merchandise route yet. However despite the draw of the trio, they may be playing a wait and see game to see how it's affected sales in each market. Actual viewings for Amazon are not a major dealbreaker.

Considering Amazon offer the video streaming service without Prime for £5.99 with 1080p HD, it's not as high a prority for them as Prime itself or the new Amazon Music service which is £9.99pm. (£7.99 for Prime members).

At least I have seen the rest etc, it really is Top gear all but in name, And the fact there have conversation street, which to be fair most people outside the UK would have never seen ( news get cut out to reduce it running time) Its going to get old very very fast by 2019.

BBC needs to make TG more conectable like having more reviews of current normal cars.

It was a poor Top Gear. Trying to be Top Gear, but legally enough different.

Ditch 'The American' Stig, not funny. Ditch the dead celebrities and ditch trying to do sketch shows.

You're naturally funny together, more road trips, more chat together and with audience and celebrities.

I missed the news section.

First point - No. He was brought in to be the polar opposite of 'The Stig' to keep Amazon lawyers happy that BBC Worldwide wouldn't sue for copyright infrigment. Having a wise cracking American driver whose face you can see is far away enough from a mute racing driver you can't.

Second point - a quick 3 second search in Google answers your question. Former RAF base near Wroughton in Wiltshire.

Self Edit - Mark above this reply has provided a link on finding it - but just in case (and only this once)

The dead celebs gag is to keep the lawyers happy too. The same probably goes for the news but they record the studio bits so far in advance it's difficult for it to be topical.

And is topicality such a good thing on a show that is available only via an on-demand service?

How much is it costing to fly them all around the world to sit in tents? There trying there hardest but I just get the feeling come 2019 it will be all over.

It could be a great show. I agree with a lot of the comments and suggestions on here, ditch the crap American, I skipped through all his bits, couldn't stand the idiot. Also ditch the braincrash rubbish. Surely speaking to celebs isn't copyrighted by Top Gear.
If they wanted to do the interview differently, why not have the celeb driving a car whilst Jeremy is in the car with them?

One thing I didn't understand, they would set the tent up in all the amazing cities and countries, and then not feature any of the country in any of the films, they should have had a feature in each episode filmed in the country they are located.

Some of the films and features were great, but others like the war feature (whatever it was actually meant to be) near the beginning of the series was way too over the top and went on too long, they need to ditch that sort of stuff.

Maybe they should just stick to making specials/road trips, they are always great to watch, and with their budget, they could do plenty in amazing places.
