On inspection of the aforementioned websites, I noticed that LWT have a completely redesigned one featuring images from their (very good) ident as the background. The Yorkshire one says 'coming soon' with the dark blue square/chevron image in the background. Tyne Tees is the same as before, and Granada's links to the Granada Media site, so I assume that they will be redesigned soon.

The LWT one is much better than the old one. It's nicely designed and has a lot more content. Hopefully the others will follow this.

Oh, in case you didn't know, they are http://www.granada-tv.co.uk , http://www.yorkshire-tv.co.uk , http://www.tynetees-tv.co.uk and http://www.lwt.co.uk .

Not before time too, they must be the only regional ITV stations without websites. The G-Wizz sites were awful, the Yorkshire one was never updated, and it promised Calendar News 'Coming Soon' for the whole year it was on-line and never arrived. Oh and it also had Richard Whitely on the Home Page.

Its funny that Richard Whiteley is still an 'icon' for Yorkshire TV. Even though he is never on it anymore.

[Excluding his chat show which is on about 12 weeks a year for half an hour]

Anyway, would you prefer Mike Morris on the front page?!

Although every time you see Richard Whitely interviewed, he always mentions the word 'calendar' at least 50 times. I think that Richard Whitely is Yorkshire!

Well of course Richard still has links with YTV as Countdown is a Yorkshire production, he also does Friday Whiteley and sometimes political programmes. I would have preferred Christa on the website I guess.

The Granada one had Tony Wilson for some reason. Yes, Tony Wilson, the bloke who presented a football quiz on Granada for a bit. That's a bit unfair I suppose, because he has presented other things I think. Surely Lucy Meacock is the face of Granada?

Richard Whiteley was rubbish when on Calendar.

erm..erm Hello and erm welcome to Calendar,(giggle giggle), Today a fireman has died, He went out in a blaze of glory...

(Only joking with the last bit)

Did anyone in the YTV area, watch 'The Local', That was classic regional telly, presented from 'The Woolpack'. It might come back, now Friday Whiteley has finished!

What about that old fellow that used to be on Granada Tonight?

Lucy Meacock is without a doubt the face of Granada, and she lives only a few mins away from me too.
Indeed, Granada Tonight was reffered to as 'Lucy Meacock's thing...' in my house!!
Hence, they are not axing her from the show, and putting her on with the other new bloke.
and Bob Greaves I think you mean?
I don't think he is as big as Lucy, and anyway, what happened to Hazel Barrat? She had presented for ages, then suddenly dissappeared!

Yes, Hazel Barrett was really good. I last saw har on Shop! unfortunately. She's way too good for that.

And Bob Greaves the face of Granada? Well, maybe two years ago but not really anymore. Saying that though, if Richard Whitely can be the face of Yorkshire...

cheshirec, have you met Lucy Meacock? If so, is she as nice as she seems on TV?

I saw a clip of her last year presenting London Today. It was a long time ago, though.
