Last week i was recently at the albert dock, and the granada studio's there seemed to be alive! There were severall studio crew members noticable by their headsets smoking outside. Appart from live interviews for GR what actually happens there now, is it even in use at all. Last i heard it was empty. It seems such a shame, it is a beautiful building in a fab location, with a brilliant actually real skyline. Once upon a time all news came from there and this morning, infact there are still reserved car spaces for the crew of this morning! In Other news Stand Up Jenny last night featured the new endcap, it was tupid. A blue background with a few squares on and that grotesque itv granada logo as on itvgranada.com followed by an itv production. I thought granada was getting its onw endcap as part of some relaunch. Any how if you can help me with any of the above thanks and lets chat.

Quite a few of Granada's Regional programmes now have the new endcap (Including stand up Jenny and Sex and the village) but national programmes like Corrie still have the purple Granada Media endcap.
From what you have said I take its this logo that you saw:
http://www.itvregions.com/content/glogo.gif
As bizarrely as this situation is, ITV regional output no longer comes under the production brand of the local station, local news has been transferred to the newly formed ITV News Division (which in time will incorporate ITN too), and regional production comes under ITV plc.
Therefore, all regional output is now 'An ITV Production', with regional variations of the endcap - it's actually a concession that they bother to put the regional name on, they could (and probably will, in time) just have the ITV logo.
On the other hand, network productions still use regional production brands, and apparantly are likely to for some time to come.
The new Granada endcap refers to the Granada Productions brand, the name which in time will replace the regional production brands on the network. This is nothing to do with Granada Television in the north west.
All very odd, that they've stripped the regional brand from the regions, but left it intact on the network.
Oh yes, I can see this is soooo much simpler and less confusing than the old way of doing things.
Correct that is the logo i saw, disgusting isnt it. If they had to use an itv logo the itv1 granada logo that used to feature on regional idents was far more attractive. What is Liverpool studios now used for then?
