I seem to remember Fred carrying on with his weather reports from the Albert Dock into This Morning after they left Liverpool for a while as some sort of a sop to viewers who said they'd miss them, which would explain why the map stuck around. Can't have been for long though.

The map itself was removed in 2004.

Just a couple more things on this thread before it disappears: when Granada Tonight moved back to Manchester in 1993, the news stayed in Liverpool. This included in the main programme, where the Granada Tonight anchors would cross over to someone in the Liverpool newsroom for a standard bulletin for about ten minutes before being handed back to. I know this is how it was in the 'compass' era, but the short-lived 1998 era, I don't remember this occurring. I remember questioning whether any of the bulletins were coming from Liverpool at all at the time, though I now know they were, but certainly in the main programme, I seem to recall the Granada Tonight anchors doing the news stories and not handing over to Liverpool. Have a I remembered correctly.

Lastly, what's the history of Granada in Liverpool before Albert Dock, 1986? I know they had a base at Exchange Flags. Was that their first base and if so, when did they move there? Also, what programmes where made there? Was 'Exchange Flags' the only one?
