Ahhh remember the days of Granada Studios Tour.....i know i miss themn. anyway after going to watch soapstar superchef there on friday last week i was amazed to see some of the old stuff from the tour is still there! i know this because we entered the complex from the old public entrance to the park. http://www.the-manchester-studios.tv anyway the tour is now dead but watch this one online gives you an overview of the whole site, and themyth surrounding glitterballs starlight theatre is solved. It is by the sounds of things part of the old studio tour complex and they have converted it. Just one thing though as you will notice, there are a few studio numbers missing anyone know what they are used for? i know granada numbered there studios 2,4,6,8 and so on to make them seem like there was more but that means that 2,4 and 10 are not displayed? shame that garden studio is out of use, it would be brillkiant for an all new granada reports free of itv plc.....ahh well we can still live in hope!

sorry was debating wether or not to put it in the other forum, but then i thoguth it would be more appropriate here as the discussion relates to the old studio tour , as well as the current studios goings on. the site is just somerthing i stubled accros and thought it would be something other tv forumers would like to peek at with reference to my last post. no need to be so rude now !

Interesting that 3sixty appear to have taken BBC Manchester Studio A out of mothballs for use as a 4 waller

they may as well, even if it gets used rarely its better than not getting used at all. and besides it is a waste of money to leave it there. back to granada though i just think its such a shame they shut down the tour! anyone any memories?

I went in the audience for Soapstar Superchef last Thursday and the waiting area was the Rovers Return - the fake one they used as part of the Granada Studios tours. The wallpaper is different to the real Rovers, but I think some people actually thought it was the one used on screen. I see they also have the sign still up for one of the attractions there, and for the Coronation Street Shop!

I wish they hadnt closed the tours, even though I went twice id love to go again as it was 10 years ago the last time I went.

i dont know if you noticed but there were three main big studios at granada as u cn see on the virtual tour thing, but besides that are there any more, like where does the regional news come from? surely it would have made sense to group all the studios together by the scenery dock!

The ones on that site are the ones available to hire out, the regional news studio would be in permanent use and not available for other users.

There is also studio 1 where the interior of Coronation Street is filmed
