I think it's a shame -- the logo/font thing is worse, the smart bulletin studio backdrop has changed for the worse [the old version looked almost real], the new version of the music isn't as strong, and the titles, on first look, are bizarre.
The towns on the signposts are mostly in Lancs/Gtr Manchester and then Wirral -- no Warrington [shocking], in fact only one proper Cheshire town, and none from Wales. I think the John Prescot egg throwing in the previous titles is the token gesture for the decade now.
Anyway I know it's *never* the case to criticise on first appearances of course, but still. Oh well, some aspects are ok. Maybe Anna Thomas will make it look better.
I'll put only four captures, since it's all about Granada Reports later I think. I'll leave someone better to do that.

Preston, surely? God, I never thought Granada Reports could get worse, yet they've actually exceeded all expectations and made it even more dire. It's enough to make you voluntarily watch North West Tonight.
