So its finally going ahead!
End of September/Beginning of October seems to be a prime time for relaunches at the moment.
Sky News
Central News West
Granada Tonight/Reports
New jingles across the Lincs FM stations (Not TV related but a relaunch)
Well, I'll be turning my aerial on Monday night to Winter Hill to have a look at what its like, but one eye firmly fixed on Central News as well.

Ooh fab. But I do remember last time Granada tried to relaunch. New trailers, constant plugs for the new Granada Tonight. Did it happen? No.
Hopefully this will mean a new desk.
Granada isn't a bad news operation, IMO it provided some pretty impressive coverage of what happened in New York, with special bulletins that were far better than anything I saw on HTV or Central. Hopefully Granada will realise that their current style isn't doing them justice and a new authorative programme will arrive.
Excellent news.

Oh now that you've reminded me about radio jingles, Mr Ison. Would anyone like the new BBC Radio Merseyside jingle?
I said I'd encode it for a certain Mr Naylor, and I have. Feel free to download:

The best way I can describe it is... anti-climax.

No! They can't do that! Fred represented everything that Granada Tonight stood for.
Ohhh... I geddit.
The whole of the North West media eh? So, that's you and Gordon Burns? lol. RB, you could include your trip to Granada in your retirement book. Not long now Grandad. *evil laugh*
They must have high hopes for it. No doubt a lot of BBC MNCHSTR bods will be scurrying about, taking notes.
If Granada get it right then they could make it a great success. North West Tonight is not such a wonderful programme, certainly not the best. I think HTV (Wales) have done pretty well when it comes to regional news. West on the other hand are a pile of pants. And I'm sure Mr BBC West employee, wherever he is at the moment, will agree with me when I say that.

BRILLIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And about friggin' time too! I reckon that plasma screen will finally get regular use, the one which they only use on important occasions, for example the New York attacks and, um, Liverpool FC winning something.
Fred Talbot going? Aaw, I like him! Maybe, though, they're planning to replace him with a new team of on-screen weather presenters! We can but hope.
I'm so happy.
