Of course it is. Even says (c) YTV on it still. Although it is made not far from here, in Croft, which is not in YTV territory. Frankly I feel violated by this YTV invasion!! Smile

That slide is so wrong. It may be a Granada Media credit, but that slide says it's a Granada *Television* production, patently wrong.

Granada are tossers. Pure and simple.

At the end of the Night & Day credit roll it says (C) LWT, not Granada, Meridian or anyone else... I think GMG switched production duties from 'Ridi to LWT 'cos the show's set in Greenwich which is LWT stomping ground and they felt LWT would do the show more justice...

just seen the end cap for The wright stuff on channel five and all it consisted of was a purple background with the words 'A GR^N^D^ PRODUCTION'

c Anglia television 2001 - no anglia logo or anything!

also why hasnt the end of trisha changed?

it looks like granada are going down the lines of anything made by meridian, lwt, anglia etc for any channel apart from itv1 will be a total GR^N^D^ production with no logo for the actual production company but just a copyright credit!

whereas on itv1 it will consist of the above plus the logo of the production company - sounds reasonable?

It doesn't matter really.

Granada have pulled their companies apart, they're all intermingled to save money and it's really about time they came clean.

Example: Yorkshire TV makes a programme called 'After They Were Famous'. ITC attacks Granada/TTTV for not making any TTTV programmes for the network. Granada responds by rebranding ATWF to make it a TTTV production, by making a TTTV exec the executive producer. Programme is still made by YTV in Leeds though. ITC gives Granada a pat on the back and says 'that's OK then, good work'.

This is the sort of crap that comes out of Granada these days. They are lying to regulators to hide the fact they are a bunch of lazy incompetents who could not organise a p***-up in a brewery. Frankly Granada deserves to go bust.

I pity all of Granada's franchises. They in reality don't exist anymore. It's all a sham. It's about time they came clean about it, and it's about time you guys came to terms with it.

LWT is gone. Anglia is gone. And all the others. That's the way of the world...

So Carlton are better by renaming Central and Westcountry as Carlton.
Nobody knows if Crossroads is made by Carlton or Carlton.

At least Granada have kept all regional names, created regional idents for two of them.

You don't see Border, Westcountry, HTV, UTV making much for the network do you? and they arn't owned by Granada? (Well Border are, but anyway)

The last memorable HTV series has to be Wycliffe, but they made Without Motive (Series 1). In my opinion, HTV could be a good contributor to ITV1, but then again it may affect the quality of their regional work!

It is better to say (in truth) that a programme is made by the parent company, than to lie in order to appease regulators.

Yes, other smaller stations don't make much either. But I find it utterly reprehensible to try to fool people into thinking that a programme is made by a company that it is not.

More TTTV staff worked on Countdown a couple of months back (when it was made in Newcastle), a YTV 'production', than worked on ATWF, a so-called 'TTTV production'. So no, you do not know who makes any Granada programme nowadays.

And names count for nothing if the soul has been ripped out of the franchise.

So yes. Carlton *are* better. Westcountry enjoys far more independence than any of the GMG North regions. And look at Anglia vs HTV. Anglia is sinking like a stone since Granada took over. HTV is not.

Countdown in Newcastle, how come?

because the studio was being used by Wellbeing, and there wasn't a spare studio in Leeds.

On the Countdown credits it did say
'Facilities provided by Tyne Tees Television'

Well I never saw that, and there was a thread on a forum asking why that *wasn't* the case -- are you sure?
