No but they usually do. e.g Corrie is made by Granada and set in the North, Emmerdale/Heartbeat/The Royal made by YTV and set in Yorkshire

The previous season(s) carried a Meridian production caption (in purple GMG-ised style). I never understood that. Isn't the plot set in Yorkshire, or somewhere else northern? So why was it a Meridian production?
