Granada production endcap confusion

This might of been discussed before but i'm confused about the Granada production endcaps.

When you watch Emmerdale you get a 'Granada Yorkshire production', I watched Coronation street its 'Granada Manchester production', i watched somthing else (can't remember the programme) and it had 'Granada London production', I just watched This Morning with Richard and Denise and at the end it just had, 'a Granada production' on its own.

Now why is that different, I need to stop watching daytime telly, driving me bonkers.
Now its a wonder if I am more confused now, then when we had regions in place a while a go.

This Morning is the exception in the Granada brand, as TM has always been made by Granada Television (North West) when the show was in Liverpool, the show moved to London, but it was still made by Granada Television. It can't be credited to Granada London as it's not the same people and would technically classify it in old language as either a Carlton or LWT production, those now being Granada London.

Yes I thought it was for that reason as well. Afterall it was orginally made in the North (Liverpool). When it moved to London it was always still a Granada Television Production not Carlton or LWT.

However Stars in their Eyes is credited as A Granada Production when it is made by Granada Television and filmed in Manchester.

I agree...it is somewhat confusing. I would have though if made by Manchester studio...." GRANADA MANCHESTER ".....London, then " GRANADA LONDON " etc. Just now saying " GRANADA PRODUCTION " is as though nobody wants the credit! Im sure that's not the case

Programmes made by Granada Television Ltd in the Manchester Studios are usually credited to Granada Manchester

Programmes made by Granada Television Ltd anywhere else apart from Manchester are credited just Granada

Programmes made by LWT are credited Granada London

Programmes made by Yorkshire TV Ltd are credited to Granada Yorkshire

Programmes made by Anglia TV are credited to Granada Anglia

Programmes made by HTV West are credited to Granada Bristol

Programmes made by "GRANADA" are credited to Granada.

Programmes made by Meridian Broadcasting carry the endcap 'Granada'
Programmes made by Carlton are carry the endcap 'Granada'

I wonder why we dont get "Granada Meridian" when we get "Granada Anglia" ? I can understand them not wanting Carlton though.

Perhaps I'm being dim, but what's the difference here?

Well that really is the question. Basically the productions that would have had a "GR/N/D/" endcap and the bottom line of the credits say (c) GRANADA. Presumably the staff are on different conditions

Well Granada Television Ltd is generally things made in the North West from Granada's regional franchise. GRANADA is the one in London I think.

nope, Granada Television Ltd is seen at the end of This Morning and thats made in London. Mystery.

Yes but as I said previously that was originally made in Liverpool before moving to London in the late 1990s. So its a Granada TV (as in Granada North West) production really.
