I noticed, though they do it like the Lunchtime and the 3pm, as some nights they are in the studio and some they are out, I know at least one night last week they were in the CSO studio. What I think would look good is if they brought the short bulletins from the Newsroom, as they did this on Friday, as the whole programme was dedicated to the cockle pickers tragedy and they did a round up of the rest of the news in the newsroom and it looked quite effective.[/

From 1992 until August 1997, they used to hand over to Andrew Brittain in Liverpool for a News Round-Up.

On Occasions they have gone to the Newsroom for a Round-Up over recent years, but it has just been on Occasion.

I personally think handing over to the Newsroom is a good idea, they should do it more often, especially if there is just one Main Presenter presenting the Programme.

I have a feeling they've changed transponder which is why I'm getting the technical fault message...

Yes, for those who want to watch Granada, and can't find in their EPG, it's moved to the transponder carrying STV,UTV, and Channel.

Hope this helps!

I notice, somewhat life-changingly, that Granada are now using the studio for the GMTV bulletins, with the very pleasant Anna Thomas. Contrast that with a *far* too-close-to-the-screen Peter Berry on that ghastly yellow fake backdrop previously, and I do believe we have an improvement.

Still not as life-changing as when Tina stopped with her clunking and heavy breathing in the self-op cupboard over on NWT though -- I'm still not even over that yet.

Or are we not allowed to talk about the BBC in here?

So they have used the Main Studio during GMTV too, very good. I noticed it at 10:55.

It was also interesting to see Dan Walker reading the Lunchtime and Afternoon Updates too, I wonder if he may eventually replace Tony when he is off.

Just for the record, in 1998 when Granada moved their News Operations from Liverpool back to Manchester, they used three Studios for the News.

They used the CSO during GMTV and I presume the other morning and evening Updates, but they had another Studio which they used for the Lunchtime News.

It's not quite news exactly but I was just watching Crimefighters then and we got an endcap with...

ITV
GRANADA

An ITV Production

First time I have seen this, so all regions must have one done for them.

BTW Has Tony Morris taken the week off or something? Well he deserves it, as he is on far more than Lucy, who also took Friday off.

Don't know why, but thanks for the info... BTW, it's 10.906 V

Why do these regions use CSO, instead of using the main studio all the time, surely it costs more to have a CSO and time -consuming to operate it.

Did anyone see Granada Reports tonight? All I have to say is that I feel very sorry for Ralph Blunsom.

There was basically an interview coming from Burnley, where Michael Howard had been today, and he was interviewing a couple of councillors for the town. Basically what started out at noise in the background got pretty bad, it sounded like people were hurling abuse, it was pretty unaudiable but it sounded bad, there was one point where the volume was turned down and then after a few seconds after it was faded back up Ralph said that the interview would have to be stopped as it was unbroadcastable, then they had to hand back to Lucy in the studio who apologised. Though I heard nothing myself if they stayed with the interview it could have got pretty serious.

I mean you could be forgiven if people just walked past waving, sticking the odd finger up or just staring at the screen. But I think what was being said was rather abusive and it didn't help because Ralph and co were talking about Asylum problems in the town. Though as I said it was inauduaible it did sound like abuse.

Yeah we sae that, I think it was to do witht he topic thats why they were shouting abuse. Also Lucy has been all over the place last week and Tony was not on at all, I think its to do with Half Term. Have they stopped going to ITV News now at 6.15 or have i just gone mad? Laughing
