Yes i saw that too what on earth does that mean ?and what about the dreadful pronuciation of "John Shusay" (John Suchet's)name by the network announcer into the news.
IS this the beginning of the end for regional tv names?
Firstly HTV West productions were replaced by HTV.
Then replaced by United Media Productions.
Then changed to Carlton productions and sometimes with West Of England tag aswell.
But now Granada Bristol is quite meaningless!
This is surely going towards BBC territory where the regional BBC station name is replaced with the City name that it is based in.
Everyone remembers Why Dont You where different series were from BBC Cardiff, BBC Liverpool, BBC Manchester, BBC Belfast etc?
Surely with the merger of Granda and Carlton all ITV regional based productions from Granada Meridian, Granada Anglia, Carlton etc should all be now copyrighted to ITV Bristol, ITV Southampton etc?
Why didnt Granada credit the production to Granada West ? It wouldve made much more sense rather than singling out the City the production was made in (thats if it was actually made in Bristol considering it featured Newcastle and London!)
The Granada Bristol building is just down Whiteladies Road from BBC Bristol - so they're not even in the same place as HTV are, which is on Bath Road.
HTV do have some production facilities there - Nick will know the name of the indy film company they own down there. At the moment, it's totally escaped my mind.
